MISSION
STATEMENTOur mission is to prepare godly Haitian leaders
who make disciples of Christ in order to transform their communities, to
the glory of God.
Why is STEP important?
STEP's two university-level leadership training programs -
Licence en Theologie (bachelor's degree) and Diplome en
Theologie (diploma) - are designed with a view to community
transformation.
- Disciple-making is the God-given mandate of the Church.
- The ministries of godly and competent servant-leaders will
produce mature disciples of Jesus Christ.
- Disciples who learn to think and live according to God's design
for mankind will transform their communities.
The envisioned impact is TRANSFORMATION - the transformation of
individual lives, of churches, of communities, and Lord willing, the
transformation of an entire society!
Do we want the church to serve as salt and light in Haiti? Then
we MUST prepare disciple-making church leaders! STEP News
and Current Events:
- STEP commencement exercises will be held at 4 pm on Thursday, May 12, at the Bolosse Baptist Church in Port-au-Prince. Twenty-seven students will receive a Bachelor of Theology degree, along with ten graduates of the Theological Education by Extension program for lay leaders. Fifteen spouses and fiancees of STEP students will also be recognized for having completed the 3-year program offered especially for them.
- JUNE 2005
STEP and the Seminaire Theologique de l'Eglise de Dieu en Haiti (Theological Seminary of the Church of God in Haiti) will jointly offer a one-week intensive course called Biblical Foundations of Stewardship & Fund Development: A Practical Theology for Funding the Great Commision, June 13-17. The course will be taught by personnel from International Steward, a ministry based in Grand Rapids, MI, whose goal is to equip ministry leaders around the world to begin stimulating individuals within their local communities to grow in the "grace of giving."
